My dad once had a close call with our CAT bull dozer.   It is tracked and at the time did not have a seat belt.   We were pulling gravel out of a creek to repair an area where it washed out the gravel near a bridge.  He had the bucket full of gravel and fairly high up in the air, he was backing up an incline and it decided to tip towards the front end.  He actually got ejected and thrown up towards the bucket and almost pinned between the bucket and the machine.  This was a close call and he almost got killed.   Was badly beaten up but survived.  Needless to say, he fitted the CAT with a proper seat belt to avoid any issues like this in the future and is now more consious of how he operates it.

I was surprised that they did not originally fit it with a seat belt.   If your machine does not have one I recommend you get one ASAP!
